News & Events - Revenues Press Release

TeleChem International, Inc. posts strong increase in revenues for first quarter of 2005.

Sunnyvale, CA, April 6, 2005 – TeleChem International, Inc. obtained revenues figures for the first quarter (1Q) of 2005.  Compared to the first quarter of 2004, revenues increased 21% for the ArrayIt® Life Sciences Division and 12% company-wide.  Web traffic on the arrayit.com site was also up sharply in 1Q of 2005, with more than 4.8 million web hits for the quarter and a record-setting 2.1 million web hits for March 2005.  The ArrayIt® Division enjoyed significant new accounts growth, bringing the total number of Life Sciences customers to more than 4,700 worldwide. TeleChem’s ArrayIt® brand product line is the most widely used in the microarray industry. Microarrays are glass chips that contain cDNAs, oligonucleotides, proteins and other molecules used for biological research and diagnostics. The ArrayIt® H25K microarray represents a scientific first by offering customers a chip that contains a complete set of 25,536 mapped and fully annotated genes covering the entire human genome.  The company attributes its strong revenues increase to expanded sales and marketing efforts, new product releases, and a growing reputation in the marketplace from academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical customers.

Company co-founder Todd Martinsky was encouraged by the 1Q data. “We continue to demonstrate our ability to excel in a hot technology area”, Martinsky explained. “Underlying our competitiveness are the business basics: excellent products, technological innovation, friendly customer support, and a strong presence on the Internet.” TeleChem’s company president René Schena was equally positive. “The numbers speak volumes to the strength of our position. Compared to 1Q of last year, we are offering nearly 100 new microarray products to our Life Sciences customers, and new product development is certainly a key revenue driver. On the people side of things, our staff has worked diligently to deliver on the promises we have made to our customers and the media. All in all, a very impressive start to 2005.”
