News & Events - Web Traffic Press Release

ArrayIt® Division shows record web traffic to start 2005.

Sunnyvale, CA, February 1, 2005 – TeleChem International, Inc. ArrayIt® Division released web traffic, sales and new accounts figures for January 2005. Across the board, the web traffic on the arrayit.com site was the strongest in company history, with more than 1.4 million hits, an increase of nearly 20% over the same month in 2004.  The 1.4 million web hits represented 15.5 gigabytes of customer-downloaded data from more than 934,000 ArrayIt® files.  The ArrayIt® Division also posted a very strong sales month and saw significant new accounts growth, bringing the total number of Life Sciences customers to 4,400.  TeleChem’s ArrayIt® product line is the most widely used brand name in the microarray industry. Microarrays are small glass chips that contain cDNAs, oligonucleotides, proteins and other molecules used for biological research and diagnostics.  The ArrayIt® H25K microarray represents an industry first by containing a complete set of fully annotated genes covering the entire human genome. TeleChem attributes its strong web traffic, sales and new accounts activities to the combined effects of technological innovation, new products, increased market share, successful litigation, and expanded sales and marketing activities including the release of a new company catalog.

Company co-founder Todd Martinsky was pleased by the January 2005 data, saying “ArrayIt® was an Internet-oriented company before the Internet was fashionable.  We have always focused on electronic access to provide our research customers with the best possible product information. The activity at our website, strong sales and new accounts additions indicate the strength of our business and a very hot technology sector.” René Schena, CEO of TeleChem International, Inc. responded to the record web activity and other positive company indicators by saying “these trends indicate the strength of our business and an overall growing economy. We are predicting strong sales growth over the next 8 quarters, particularly as we launch our personal SpotLight microarray scanner, H25K and other content microarrays, and new glass substrates to key accounts.  We are also moving closer to inking a deal with a major scientific products provider, which will increase our sales bandwidth substantially.”
